The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold the Indian Forest Service Examination 2009 for recruitment to the 75 Indian Forest Service Officers commencing from 11th July 2009.

Date of commencement and duration of Examination - 11.07.2009 - 10 Days

Qualification

A Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a degree in Agriculture or Forestry or Engineering of a recognized University or equivalent.

Candidates appearing for final year examination who meet all the requirements can also apply.

Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the Regulations given in notice.

Age limit - 21-30 years as on 1.7.2009

The maximum number of attempts
(i) General Category - 4 attempts,
(ii) OBC - 7 attempts
(iii) SC/ST - No limit

Apply in the Common Application Form of the Commission for its examinations, which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/ Post offices throughout the country against cash payment of Rs. 20/- only.

Application Fee
Rs.100/- as Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. SC/ST/PH candidates are exempted from payment while OBC candidates are to pay the full fee
